Where the boundaries of power, identity and the animal side of human society begin to blur.
Make Orwell Great Again is a physical and visual contemporary circus piece in which circus art, live music and imagination merge into a spectacle about power.
The piece took shape during a residency at Cirko – Center for New Circus and in rehearsal periods in Turku and Espoo. It was completed as Teatteri Sujo’s residency production of summer 2025, with three intensive weeks in the barn theatre in Pörsänmäki.
Alongside the choreographic and artistic work, I carried overall responsibility for the production: building the budget and coordinating funding, partnerships and the practical production.
