Dance Movement Therapy
The psychotherapeutic use of movement to promote emotional, social, cognitive and physical integration.

What is dance movement therapy?
Dance movement therapy is a psychotherapeutic form of treatment that uses the body and movement to explore and express emotions, experiences and thoughts. Its core premise is that body and mind form an integrated whole: physical experiences are reflected in psychological wellbeing, and vice versa.
Movement becomes a medium for communication, insight and change. Depending on the needs of the person or group, the process may include spontaneous movement, breathing, bodily awareness and movement imagery. No dance skills are needed.
What it can support
- Releasing stress and tension
- Emotional regulation
- A clearer body image
- Social interaction
- Holistic wellbeing

My approach
I am curious to work with processes where movement becomes its own language. In such processes, movement reveals what words cannot, brings forth embodied memories and supports their integration through the intelligence of the moving body.
My background in circus, dance and improvisation shapes the way I work: attentive to embodied observation, to group processes, and to the playful, creative side of movement.
